We are now in our new house (for the past week) and have just got the internet connected.  A lot of stuff has been unpacked so it is livable in but there are still a lot of boxes in the garage.  Today we have had an excavator in moving dirt around the back yard.  The step up is much higher than we wanted it to be so we need to get some advice on what to do, but at least we have a nice flat section behind the house for a patio.  Both Jack and Grace enjoyed the excavation as the driver gave them both a go in the digger.

Over the past week we have had a driveway installed and some steps built to the front door.  Both are looking good.  Now we are all on holidays for Christmas and getting ready for Christmas Day.  Carol and Bob will be joining us and I’m sure Dee, Rachel and Blake will be over at some point.

I shall get some photos onto the website later this evening and try out Skype on the new internet service as soon as possible.

After almost 2 years we are now the pround owners of a new house.  We paid the final money and picked up the keys at 5 o’clock this afternoon.

Straight round to the house and few friends came over for champagne and nibbles.  It was wonderful to finally get in, and (even though there is a lot of small things to complete) it looks really good.

Now the hard work of the move and landscaping can start.

Well, a week today we should have the keys to our house.  It’s been a long time coming but it is now almost here.  The last few things are being completed on the house, such as polishing the floor boards (which look really good), then we have walk through with the builder on Tuesday morning.

Providing there is not any major work to do, we are booked to get the keys next Thursday afternoon!!

The the work for us starts.  Friday we have a man with a digger booked to do the earth moving, the carpets being fitted and a tv aerial arriving.  Saturday we have a removal firm booked to move all the furniture.  At the same time I have all the curtains and blinds to put up, and a new fridge and bed delivered.  Then on the Monday the drive will start getting laid and the front deck built.

It is very exciting but also stressful, Sarah has been hard at work packing while I have been away with work.  Sound the same as the last move.

It will be such a relief to be in and have a few days to get settled before Christmas.  We plan to spend it in our new house, Carol and Bob are coming down for the day.  And I’m sure there will be lots of festivities around the estate.  There are quite a few families in already and everyone is being very sociable.

I have 2 weeks off work over Christmas to spend working on the garden, and I’ve also started training for next April’s Ironman so a lot of time will be spent on this.
