A Night in Casablanca

Filed under: Uncategorized — Sarah @ 10:16 pm

…A miracle of such magnitude…Shirley and Bruce celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary is Glitz and Glam. The night was recreated in Ricks Cafe Americana, Casablanca. Both daughters were home to organise and celebrate. Nicki flew in from New York and Rey came up from her home (which is attached to Shirley and Bruces). Sam on the Piano was just as good as from the movie… and the movie was replayed on the projector over the swimming pool all evening, till the speeches. Where we were entertained by a slide show of the life, and travels of the Golden Couple.

An elegant evening, with our “Letter of Transit”all ladies were requested to be dressed in evening gowns from the forties and gents in Dinner jackets or Arab Garb. Everyone looked very glam drinking bubbles and “gambling in the private salon”. All chips were provided for the roulette table in exchang for donations to (Grannys) Muriels Retirement village.

Most family and friends made it to the party and we hope to have a copy of old photos which were shown in the slide show so we can post them on this blog.

House Contracts

Filed under: Family Activities — Will @ 10:21 pm

Another step forward this morning as we signed contracts with the builder.  Now they have 4 weeks to start to build and 35 weeks to finish.  So we should be in before Christmas as long as there’s no major problems with the weather.  It is a great relief to us to get this signed off as it’s been stressful over the past few weeks getting this ready.  Now all the decisions are made and everything locked in.

It also means we have a more certain date for moving so we will look to find another rental.  The house we are in now, is till up for sale and we do not think it will last another 9 months.

We had a lovely day on Sunday, when we took the kids for a scoot along the cycle track near our house.  We cut off from the old railway line and went for a walk through the bush.  It is amazing how quickly you can be out of habitation.  Both jack and Grace were very tired by the time we got back home for lunch, Jack did really well walking or scooting all the way himself, Grace managed to persuade my to give her a piggy back up the hill.

Then after lunch we had a nice relaxing time in the Ocean baths at Merewether beach.  We bumped into a few of Jack’s school friends so they could all play together.

You may have noticed that the Gallery hasn’t been working for a while.  Well it is now sorted out thanks to Edward, so I’ve put a few recent photos on.  I shall try and keep it more up to date in the future.
