Update

Filed under: Blogroll, Family Activities — Will @ 12:34 pm

It’s been a while since I’ve put anything on the website.  The reason for this is our computer is broken.  It’s being repaired but I’ve also taken advantage of a sale through work to buy a laptop.  This will be much quicker than our present computer and so we should have Skype and the webcam working properly.  So everyone sign up and let us know your user names.

At the moment i’ve been working very hard on a project to move some machinery between factories and I’ve been training hard for a half iroman mid-december.  Sarah has been finalising plans on the house and land.  The house are with council for planning permission at the moment, but there is a delay on the land being registered which is holding everything up.  We’re very happy with all the house plans and we’re now looking into the landscaping.  We’re being very tempted by a pool again, as we’re using the one in our present house a lot now the weather is becoming very hot.  We’ll see how our finances go.

Our present house has been put up for sale, so we’re hoping we don’t have to move again soon.  One interested couple do not want to move in straight away, which would be ideal for us, but we’ll wait to see what happens.

Jack is in his last few weeks of school before the long holidays now.  He is repeating Kinder next year, so has been meeting all his new classmates.  It will be difficult for him seeing all his friends move on without him, but he understands that it is happening and it will put him middle of the age group instead of being almost 2 years younger than others in his class.

Grace is really enjoying pre-school and will go to 3 days a week from February onwards.  She recently had a Trike-athon at pre-school where the kids were sponsored to cylce around the car park as many times as they could.  A fun morning, and good to see her friends.

Both Jack and Grace go to Little Athletics each week, where they are learning the different sports.  Jack won the discus by a mile this week, though he stops to wait for the others during the running races and then gets left behind.  It can be quite a long evening with a lot of hanging around, but both seem to be getting into it now.

Nippers is still going on each Sunday morning.  It’s lovely to have a reason to go to the beach.  Jack has been learning to paddle a surfboard, and has been building confidence running in the waves.  It won’t be long till he’s confident enough to swim in the surf.

The Christmas holidays are coming up, and after Christmas Day in Forster with Carol and Bob, we are driving 4 hours up the coast to a caravan park near Coffs Harbour.  We’ll be taking the tent and there are lots of activities for children on the site, including a pool, playground and jumping pillow.  These were the best sites we stayed at on our road trip as the kids run themselves ragged during the day, go to sleep easily and Sarah and I will have some rest and relaxation in the evening.  We’re all looking forward to this.

Then back to Forster on New Years Day for another couple of days.  I have 2 full weeks off work so it will be a nice rest.  We hope to do some more camping over the school holidays either beside a beach or in the mountains.  School starts back at the beginning of February so there is plenty of time to fill.
